Day 13 of Hope

Some of the hardest words to say are "I'm sorry" or "I was wrong". It is hard for us as humans to see our mistakes or acknowledge our faults. We fight it so much, twisting ourselves into pretzels to try and justify our actions and it gets so exhausting! If only we would just admit it, we could find true peace with ourselves. It is exhausting and burdensome to carry a disagreement or misunderstanding around, much like rocks in the packs on our backs, they weigh us down and in a way hold us captive. It is also tiring to wear a mask to hide the faults deep inside us. We all have faults, there is no perfect human. We must take a moment, sit with ourselves, and honestly look and truly accept these things in order to make a change. We must recognize the beautiful parts and admit to ourselves the parts that are not quite right. It is at that moment that we are truly honest with ourselves, that we can begin to till the soils of our hearts and plant new seeds. We may need to change the nourishment we provide as well. It is there where hope sparks. As these seeds blossom and flourish, that it the time when new life begins.
